Welcome to the Shirehampton A.R.C. web site. Shirehampton is located near the mouth of the river Avon about 1 mile from the port of Avonmouth and 5 miles from the city of Bristol. The club holds the callsign GX4AHG and can be heard on both HF & VHF most Friday evenings.
The club meets every Friday other than over Xmas from 19:15 to approximately 22:00 at the Signal Station located within "TS Enterprise Sea Cadets" at the end of Station Road. If you can't make the club many members can be found afterwards in the Lamplighters public house just across the road !
Shirehampton Club is small but very friendly. Many of the club members have a technical background and most weeks members bring in their latest projects for others to comment on and experiment with. No matter what your interest is within the radio or electronics field someone at Shirehampton ARC will always be willing to discuss it with you. Since the club relocated its shack to the main deck building access to the building and classrooms does not involve any stairs.
The club runs Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced courses and we are happy to teach people of any ability, you do not need to have a background in electronics or radio. If you are interested in taking a course or just want to find out more please contact our secretary using this link. If you are new to Amateur Radio have a look at this video from the RSGB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH9OtgAcV6g&feature=youtube
